Gwangyang Port Hinterland (Free Trade Zone) provides you with unparalleled business opportunities.
‘Port hinterland’ is a specially designated land area by the Article 42 of ‘Port Act’. The purposes of the port hinterland development are to gather port support facilities and waterfront facilities in a trade port zone, to enhance the added-value of the port, to vitalize the port-related business and to provide port users with more convenience services.
Functionally, port hinterland can be classified into the ‘lease district’ which is designated as a FTZ that allows global corporations to engage in value-added multi-modal logistics and manufacturing activities, and the ‘business support facilities district’ that carries out commerce, business, research ventures, waterfront and entertainment functions.
So far, a total of 3.88million ㎡ of hinterland has been developed and operational in Gwangyang port. This hinterland which is designated and FTZ, is a ideal location for a value-added logistics and manufacturing business model where foreign goods can be re-exported after value-added activities such as assembling and processing without customs clearance. Currently, in Gwangyang port hinterland, some of 40 manufacturing and logistics companies from around the world including Japan, UK and US are actively engaging in their commercial activities.
